Video: Using the Ten Minute Daily Reader Program

A new Grammar app which defines and explains the ACARA grammar outcomes from Foundation to Year 7/8.

This program provides the essential qualities of effective instruction (Rosenshine and Stevens)– systematic, explicit instruction based on a clear assessment of prior knowledge with the opportunity for the student to review and revise each sound and sight word being learnt. It is evidence-based teaching and learning that is grounded on a research based (Karme'enui) continuum of instruction and data based instruction (White and Haring).

If you are a teacher the suggestion is that you access the "Using the Ten Minute Daily Readers" which includes assessment tools and data sheets for all Readers and also directs you to the relevant level of further practice in the ICanRULE literacy program. Also available are Running Record Data Sheets, which will guide the success of the student in their quest for learning to read, write, spell and comprehend the English language in print.
